Our Terrace Reveal for the Real Simple Idea Home
For the past few months, our team has been busy behind the scenes designing the penthouse patio located at the stunning The Marbury Condos set against the ever-inspiring NYC backdrop.
Behind the scenes in NC... Loading up our Claremont Collection. You bet I tried to get in the truck headed for NY too!
"To give the terrace a thriving-greenhouse look - while providing privacy- designer Roxy Te covered a fence with faux boxwood 'wallpaper.' That's just one example of the no-maintenance fake plants she mixed in with the real deal to achieve an always-lush environment."
Gorgeous Frontgate planters and our raised Home Depot garden beds offer a smart solution for city living, or any small outdoor space. They’re mobile and compact-- perfect for infusing the area with flowers, herbs, or greenery!
PS. Don't sleep on the Owner's Suite!
We're excited to share that Kate Hamilton Gray, founder of Hamilton Gray Studio & Rebecca Atwood, founder of Rebecca Atwood Designs included our Carmen Grasscloth Dresser in the design of the Owner's Suite for the Real Simple Idea Home. We absolutely love their use of texture in the space!
We are so excited to reveal our terrace design for the Real Simple Idea Home! As featured in the October 2020 issue of Real Simple Magazine.
Our inspiration? Our furniture design, The Claremont Outdoor Collection, and a dreamy scene we can't get enough of...French Garden Meets Manhattan-- envision bountiful boxwood, lots of blue & white, and light & airy drapery. Peek a few of our inspiration photos below!
Above: The Claremont Collection lands in NY! Since I wanted the rooftop terrace to feel like an extension of indoor living, we included deep, cushioned woven furniture, our new outdoor collection, The Claremont upholstered in the perfect subtle stripe in the Thibaut indoor/outdoor line, weatherproof decor and accessories like Plow and Hearth wicker lamps, Annie Selke rugs, and plush pillows from Pottery Barn andSerena and Lily! The Home Depot pergola accented with Pottery Barn Sunbrella outdoor curtains gives the sense of a cozy, indoor living room.
We secretly snuck in UV rated, high quality faux boxwood from New Growth Designs with a bevy of greenery and gorgeous hydrangeas from Endless Summer Hydrangeas and @rymacmn for a low maintenance, always lush look! Thank you CF gardens for lending your green thumb!
Pull Up a Seat
Stylish dining furniture from Serena & Lily finish off the terrace that serves as a fully functional living, dining, and gardening area! The key to making a large outdoor space functional is to separate it into sections, and anchor each with a pretty outdoor rug.
Thank you so much to the incredible team at Real Simple for bringing our vision to life. COVID-19 restrictions prevented us from ever seeing the space and traveling up for install! Pick up the October issue for more and congrats to our fellow participants on fantastic work!@katieholdefehr@maxwhumphrey @ohjoy@rebecca_atwood@hamiltongraystudio@daynaisomjohnson@horderly
